Jaffar Express History
Mir Jaffar Khan Jamali, a well-known Baloch tribal leader, a prominent participant in the Pakistan Movement, and a close friend of Mohammad Ali Jinnah is the inspiration behind the Jaffar Express. He was the uncle of Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, the first prime minister.
On the 16th of April in the year 2003, the inauguration of the train was formally conducted by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali. The train employed Chinese carriages for its operation. The established service, known as the Real Jaffar Express, was initiated to connect the cities of Quetta and Rawalpindi. It’s noteworthy that the train is named after a notable Baloch tribal leader named Mir Jaffar Khan Jamali. He held a significant position not only as a tribal leader but also for his close association with Mohammad Ali Jinnah and active participation in the movement that led to the creation of Pakistan.
