Federal Minister of Pakistan Railway, Mr Saad Rafique made a remark regarding the train stoppage time and said that the trains would stop for approximately 5 minutes at major stations in order to make it easy for passengers to aboard or take off the train.
This particular decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Khwaja Saad Rafique, said a press release.
Implication of Decision:
In the session he stated that implication of this decision would take effect from 22 of December.
It was stated that the power vans as well as engines and the baggage boxes would be placed at the front or end of the train to comfort the passengers.
Ministry also made an announcement regarding the installation of extra coaches on Lahore-Rawalpindi train , amid the huge influx of passengers on weekends.
Moreover, it was decided to develop short platforms up-to 1410 ft.
