Due to a trade union action organised by railroad workers, twelve office train services on different lines will be cancelled on Monday morning (24 July), according to the Railway Department.
As a result of the start of the trade union action by railway workers this evening (July 23), several evening trains running from Colombo to outlying areas were cancelled, including the 06:40 and 11:00 p.m. trains to Rambukkana, the 07:10 p.m. train to Ambepussa, the 08:50 p.m. train to Polgahawela, and the 09:50 p.m. train to Meerigama.
Twelve other scheduled trains, including those heading to Colombo, that were supposed to run on multiple lines tomorrow morning have also been cancelled as a result of the trade union action.
