Pakistan Railways To Upgrade Three Trains To Facilitate Passengers

With the goal of bringing the department to self-sufficiency, Pakistan Railways planned to upgrade three trains to give passengers the utmost amenities.

An official in the ministry informed APP that the “Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has previously issued directives to officials involved to make required arrangements in this respect to rehabilitate Karachi-bound trains within the next four months to serve the populace.”

He said that modernizing certain trains, such as the Karakoram Express, Karachi Express, and Pak-Business Express, will increase revenue for the department while keeping the Khyber Mail and Jaffar Express on current tracks.

In response to a query, the official stated that Pakistan Railways planned to explore various branding possibilities for a number of passenger trains and railroad platforms to maximize revenue for the division.

In addition to addressing Pakistan Railways’ growing deficit, he claimed that branding the trains and platforms will also enable private businesses to market their goods for this reason.

According to the official, Pakistan Railways would first be given five trains to brand as a test project, including the interior walls of the passenger coaches and even the restrooms.

He continued, “The minister has already asked the concerned to finish all the requirements in this regard as soon as feasible. The deficit of the department would decrease after starting this project.
