For more than eight hours, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website has not been accessible. IRCTC manages ticketing for the Indian Railways. The public sector undertaking (PSU) stated that the website is having technical problems on the microblogging platform X and that a team is working to fix it. A technical issue that prevented users of the platform from booking tickets caused the website to go offline at 3.30 am. The Ministry of Railways created IRCTC in 1999.
After people began complaining that they couldn’t purchase tickets online, IRCTC posted on X that the ticketing service was unavailable due to technical issues. The problem is being fixed by the CRIS technical team.
Additionally, it stated that anyone wishing to purchase a ticket might do so by visiting the PRS counter or by contacting web service providers like Make My Trip, Amazon, and others.
When their money was taken, many people complained to IRCTC, demanding to know when they would receive it back.
Others who attempted to use the partner services to book tickets reported failure on X.
According to the IRCTC website, the PSU was established as an additional branch of the Indian Railways to modernize, manage, and improve the culinary and hospitality services provided at stations, aboard trains, and in other locations as well as to advance both domestic and foreign tourism.
