According to ARY News, Karachi residents will experience the worst gas load shedding from 12 to 27 August as a result of a 107 mmcfd supply drop caused by yearly maintenance work at the gas field.
Due to annual maintenance work at the Kunnar-Pasakhi Deep (KPD) gas field, the gas supply to Karachi will be interrupted from 12 to 27 August. This would result in a 107 mmcfd drop in gas supply, which will have an impact on the home, commercial, industrial and Kapco power plants.
The Kunnar-Pasakhi Deep (KPD) gas field will undergo maintenance over the course of three days, according to a notice from Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC).

According to the SSGC spokeswoman, there will be a complete shutdown for eight days and a partial shutdown for four days. The gas supply will be reduced by 107 mmcfd during the total shutdown and by 50 mmcfd during the partial shutdown.
Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) supply line damage occurred recently while ditching for the Karachi Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) project.
The SSGC claims that during the construction of the BRT near Safoora Chowrangi in Karachi, the 8’dia gas supply line was damaged, cutting off the gas to nearby communities like Memon Foundation Hospital, Sadi Town, Karachi University, Rimjhim, Rizvia Society, Down University, Suparco, Sachal Goth, and other nearby villages.
